 again inviting you to an artist talk on the occasion of the Museum of Shad
 ows exhibition. Director Thomas Thiel will be talking to the conceptual an
 d light artist Mischa Kuball about his work. The focus is on the currently
  exhibited slide light installation Kompressor from 1999\, which shows ima
 ges that are reflected several times through the glass panes and projected
  onto the walls of the exhibition space. On the one hand\, these are indiv
 idual portraits of well-known personalities\, and on the other\, 81 buildi
 ngs and architectural icons. The compressor\, an everyday machine for comp
 ressing gases\, condenses and illuminates images of the 20th century. Time
 \, space\, language and light - the central concepts of Kuball's art - can
  be found in the compressor.\n\nThe artist from Düsseldorf teaches at the 
 Academy of Media Arts Cologne in the department of Art in Public Space. Wi
 th his light installations\, he uses public and institutional spaces to dr
 aw attention to grievances or (cultural) historical events.\n\nWithout reg
