Notice
The museum will be completely closed in June (3.6.-29.6.24) due to the ongoing renovation work and additional alterations.

In 2024, the Museum of Contemporary Art Siegen (MGKSiegen) will be equipping itself for the future. The museum’s operation since its opening in 2001, as well as changing technical requirements necessitate some refurbishment. Since February 2024, the lighting and some of the building’s other utilities will be brought up to date. Thank you for your understanding!

Public holiday opening: New Year’s Day (2–6 pm), Good Friday, Easter Monday, 1st May, Whit Monday, Ascension Day, Corpus Christi, Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Unity, 3rd October), All Saints Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (all 11 am–6 pm). Closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

Arrival

By train
The MGKSiegen is a 5-minute walk from Siegen’s main station. Go straight along Bahnhofstraße, cross Koblenzer Straße, and after 100 m turn left into Kölner Straße (pedestrian zone). When you reach Alte Poststraße, turn to your right.

By coach
The museum is a 3-minute walk from the coach stop. Follow Koblenzerstraße turn right into Kölner Straße (pedestrian zone). When you reach Alte Poststraße, turn to your right.

By car
Follow the A 45 to exit Siegen (no. 21), continue along B 62 towards Siegen/Netphen until the exit Siegen-Innenstadt, from which you will reach Koblenzer Straße and cannot follow signs to the parking garages.

Parking
The museum is located in the Oberstadt district of Siegen and easy to reach on foot from all the parking garages.

We offer regular guided tours of our exhibitions to the public, which are free of charge.

Every Thursday at 12.30 pm there is a short tour, every Sunday at 4 pm a one-hour tour of the current exhibition. In addition, there is a guided tour of the collection every first Sunday of the month at 3 pm.

You can also book private guided tours at any time:
Individual tour: € 60 plus admission (approx. 60 minutes, max. 20 people)

Guided tours for school classes followed by a workshop (approx. 120 minutes): € 43 per group plus admission € 1 per pupil and € 1 per accompanying teacher; free admission with school annual pass

The museum provides barrier-free accessibility

The museum entrance is at ground level and without steps; all exhibition levels can be reached easily via elevator. A cloakroom, lockers and WC for the disabled are located on the ground floor. Folding chairs are available for your use.
