We’re celebrating our birthday!
The Museum of Contemporary Art Siegen (MGKSiegen) opened today 25 years ago, on the 6th of May 2001. Hundreds of visitors flocked to the foyer and the new exhibition spaces back then. For 25 years now, the MGKSiegen has been a vibrant meeting place that continually opens up new perspectives on contemporary art and its history.

We want to celebrate our 25th anniversary together with the Circle of Friends of the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Siegen and everyone on the last weekend in May! Admission is free all weekend.

We’re offering a packed programme for all visitors and the whole family, featuring an open studio, workshop stations, discovery tours, a museum treasure hunt, architectural tours, photographic displays and digital insights via Instagram. Refreshments will also be available, including drinks, snacks and a coffee bar. 

We would particularly like to draw your attention to the reception on Saturday 30 May at 4 pm and the subsequent discussion, ‘25 Years and Many Stories’, featuring people who have been part of the museum’s journey. On Saturday evening, we will round off the day with a dinner together and music from DJ Altuu.
