Afterthought

Imrovised soundscapes

On Sunday, to conclude International Museum Day and the Siegen Art Day, there will be a concert by Achim Weiss, long-time member of the Siegen University Big Band and pianist in various Siegen jazz bands, and guest musician Kristoff Becker from Berlin.

With the series "Afterthought" Weiss returns to his early musical roots in the music scene of the Ruhr area in the early 70s. His love for experimental, improvisational music is combined with his enthusiasm for electronic sounds of all kinds. The performance "Afterthought" is intended to offer the listener a space in which he can completely indulge in the experience of sound diversity, enriched by the protagonists' improvisations on these so-called athmos.

Guest musician for the performance on May 21st is Kristoff Becker from Berlin. Kristoff's relationship with his cello is not limited to his outstanding musical mastery on the instrument. He himself develops and produces electroacoustic cellos in his company "kOff Cello".  With his project "Tangotronics" he was on tour as a cellist in many European countries. In the Siegerland region he is also known as a member of the group: "Trio Glyzerin" in which he performs silent film settings "live" with Ulrich van der Schoor and his brother Tobias.
