Long time no see! A deeper look into the collection

Talk with Prof. Dr. Christian Spies and Nora Memmert

With Prof. Dr. Christian Spies, Curator of the Lambrecht-Schadeberg collection and Nora Memmert, research volunteer and curator of the exhibition "Long time no see!"

"Long time no see! A look into the depths of the collection" is the title of the current exhibition in the Studiolo, curated by Nora Memmert as part of her research traineeship. From more than 300 works that the Lambrecht-Schadeberg Collection currently comprises, one picture per artist was selected as a representative example. These are works that have rarely been shown or are less exemplary of the respective body of work.

Have you ever wondered during a visit to the museum how the paintings are selected and how exhibitions come about? You are cordially invited to ask your questions and discuss them with us.

In a conversation with Christian Spies (curator of the Lambrecht-Schadeberg Collection), questions will be raised about the work of the collection and the so-called "highlights". Who decides what a "highlight" is? Are "highlights" timeless?

Ticket included in the admission price. Without registration.

The exhibition is a project by Nora Memmert and was created as part of the funding program "Forschungsvolontariat Kunstmuseen NRW," sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
