Portrait, body study and monochrome background are in an intensive relationship. The orange image space is empty. The body: just the abdomen and legs. A photo of Bacon's head, which he has used several times as a template, is painted here as if it were pinned on the canvas. Walking on a path in a barren world evokes the feeling of loneliness.
